Parks Questionnaire 2008

HAVE YOUR SAY ON GREEN SPACES

Residents were invited to have their say about Royal Borough parks and open spaces. (throughout October 2008)

The annual parks questionnaire gives residents the chance to rate the borough's open spaces on everything from cleanliness to available facilities.

Paper copies were sent out to a randomly selected 10% of households (about 4000) in Windsor, Maidenhead and Cox Green. (Parks in other areas are managed by the Parish Councils).

Information and suggestions will be used by the outdoor facilities team to ensure future planning meets the needs of residents.

CONSULTATION RESULTS FOR PARKS QUESTIONNAIRE 2008

Background

As part of the national Greenspace Performance Management System which over 30 local authorities participate in to benchmark nine key performance indicators within their Parks Service. In October each year we send out questionnaires to a random selected 10% of the residential properties in the Windsor & Maidenhead towns & Cox Green Parish. (All other Parishes are responsible for parks within the parish).

Following the recent parks questionnaire consultation here is a summary of the response received.

We received 629 completed questionnaires (16%) out of 4001 sent out, of which 510 (81% use a RBWM park).

The resident's satisfaction rating is 6.93 which is slightly lower than 2007 (7.17) but above the National average satisfaction rating of 6.51.

In the nine key performance indicators (cleanliness, grass cutting, sports pitches, flowers, toilets, car parking, seats and bins, signage, play areas) we are above the national average in eight of.
