Love Parks Week

Love Parks Week Love Parks Week is an annual celebration, held from 21-29 July in 2012 of all things park-related - it provided the perfect excuse to get outdoors and enjoy the summer! Quality green spaces are essential to healthy, happy communities. Below are the events that were held in 2012.

Monday 23 July
- Alfred Major Recreation Ground, Cookham: Parish Tour for 8-16 year olds - Activities include sumo suits, inflatables, arts and crafts, sports and more.

Tuesday 24 July
Birds of prey- 11am, Ockwells Park, Maidenhead: Feathers and Fur birds of prey demonstration. No need to book, just turn up. T: 01628 796252
2-3.30pm Ockwells Park, Maidenhead: Braywick Ranger Nature Walk. Come on a nature walk to discover the amazing variety of bugs, beetles, butterflies and other mini-beasts that live in our local parks! No need to book. (Meet in the car park behind the pavillion).

Wednesday 25 July
- Alfred Major Recreation Ground, Cookham: Parish Tour for 8-16 year olds - activities include sumo suits, inflatables, arts and crafts, sports and more.
- 7-8pm, Kidwells Park, Maidenhead: Boot Camp with Big Deal Training. Part of a boot camp programme, you can come and join a single first session for £5 with personal trainer Eddie Johnson, for stamina building, all-over-body strength & conditioning exercises.

Thursday 26 July
- 11am Clewer Memorial Recreation Ground in Windsor: Feathers and Fur birds of prey demonstration. No need to book, just turn up.
- 2-3.30pm, Braywick Nature Reserve, Hibbert Road, Maidenhead. Join our Braywick Ranger and come on a nature walk to discover the amazing variety of bugs, beetles, butterflies and other mini-beasts that live in our local parks! No need to book. (Meet in the car park).
- Alfred Major Recreation Ground, Cookham: Parsh Tour for 8-16 year olds - activities include sumo suits, inflatables, arts and crafts, sports and more.

Friday 27 July
- Kidwells Park: Community live - Kidwells will be a screening footage on the big screen of the Olympics for three weeks, starting from the opening ceremony. There will also be films and sports in the park as part of Community live.
- 2pm, Grenfell Park, Maidenhead: Mini Olympics Sports Day with fun games such as egg and spoon race, sack race etc to celebrate the start of the Olympics. Starts 2pm, nominal fee of £1 to cover costs. Parents must stay with their children. Arranged by Maidenhead Bridge Rotary Club
- Alfred Major Recreation Ground, Cookham: Parish Tour for 8-16 year olds - activities include sumo suits, inflatables, arts and crafts, sports and more.

Saturday 28 July
- 10am, Kidwells Park Pavilion: Join a regular Big Deal Training run starting from Kidwells Park with personal trainer Eddie Johnson.
- Kidwells Park: Community live - see Olympics on the big screen at Kidwells park.
- 7.30pm, Alexandra Gardens, Windsor: Windsor Globe's production of Romeo and Juliet. (Production includes Jack Frost and shows run to 11 August).
