adiZone

adiZone openingThe new adiZone at Braywick Park is an outdoor gym facility with FREE activities for people of all ages and abilities. The adiZone has a basketball hoop, a football rebound wall, climbing wall, tennis rebound wall, 12 outdoor work out machines and an open area to encourage dance, aerobics and gymnastics.

Pictured are the RBWM Deputy Mayor, Cllr Asghar Majeed, and Olympic Silver rowing medallist Alex Partridge opening the adiZone in February 2011.

Equipment has been designed to be highly intuitive with usage instructions and diagrams displayed. The exercise kit is split into three colour bands - yellow for the cardio zone, pink for the strength zone and blue for the core zone. At the bottom of the page is a download for a beginner, intermediate and advanced workout on the adiZone. Please be aware that all equipment is used at your own risk.

It's always a good idea to warm up before starting a work out - you could run around the nearby athletics track, it is free to use most times (not when the athletics club is using it) or have a brisk walk around Braywick Park.

If you enjoy working out on these machines why not pop along to your local BodyZone? Braywick BodyZone gym is under the rugby pavilion in this park for an indoor workout and a professional fitness programme. If you have any known medical conditions or have not exercised for a while please seek medical advice. The borough organises a GP referral scheme for those residents who might be in a high risk group, why not contact your GP to see if you can get referred - click on the Lifestyle Management link at the top right of this page. For over 60s, you can also join our SMILE groups for light exercise, dancing and hikes. See the links at the top of the page.

Parking is available in the main car park to the right of the entrance, permits are required for other areas so check signage carefully. Additional parking is available at Stafferton Way multi-storey car park, and you can then walk to the adiZone via Greenfields as part of your warm-up! There are public toilets at the pavilion.
