Parking Datchet Area

Datchet is the latest part of the Royal Borough to benefit from a new on street parking scheme aimed at making it easier for local residents and businesses to find parking spaces.

The initiative will see the Council taking over responsibility for enforcement of the on street parking areas and bays to ensure the system works effectively, with more patrols on every road, every day.

The scheme will:

  • make it easier for residents to park near their homes by improving parking in Datchet village
  • encourage visitors to use car parks
  • provide short-term parking close to businesses in the town
  • introduce a system of permits for residents and businesses as well as a voucher scheme for people visiting local residents
  • extend residents parking to 22.00hrs from Monday to Saturday

Residents entitled to parking permits may apply for a maximum of two at a cost of £20 for the first permit and £40 for the second, which is the standard charge throughout the borough.  Permits are available free to residents who are disabled or who are over 60.  Parking is also free in the Datchet council-owned car parks in the evening after 18.00hrs.

People visiting local residents wil be able to park for up to 24 hours, thanks to new visitor parking vouchers covering the resident parking areas.  Vouchers cost £2 each (50p for those aged over 60), and each Datchet resident will be allowed to buy up to 50 vouchers a year for use by their guests. Vouchers are also availble for 6 Hour Parking at £1 each (50p for those aged over 60) and the allowance on these is also 50.  There is also an allowance of 25 per year of FREE 2 Hour Vouchers.

Business permits will be available for businesses in The Green, South Green, North Green, High Street (north of the railway crossing), Horton Road, (from the junction with London Road to a point outside no.11) and Slough Road from the junction with The Green to a point outside Library House.

Businesses can apply for a maximum of four permits at a cost of £100 per year for the first, £250 for the second, £375 for the third and £500 for the fourth.  Business permits can be used in either The Avenue or Horton Road car parks. The maximum length of stay of four hours will not be implemented in the first few months while the scheme is being assessed.
