Traffic Management Act 2004

With effect from 31 March 2008 all Parking Regulations in the Royal Borough are enforced under the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA). These guidelines and regulations have been brought in by the Government on a national basis.

The existing Parking Attendants now also called Civil Enforcement Officers will patrol and enforce the same areas as previously designated.

The major changes will be that there are now 2 levels of contravention amount depending on the severity of the contravention. The new amounts will be £60 (reducing to £30 if paid within 14 days for the more severe contraventions) and £40 (reducing to £20 if paid within 14 days for the remainder).

Penalty Charge Notices (PCN'S) issued from 27 October 2008:

With effect from 27th October 2008 the charges for Parking Contraventions have been revised. The Higher level will be £70 (reducing to £35 if paid wthin 14 days) and £50 (reducing to £25 if paid within 14 days)
