Budding young Royal Borough musicians can hit the right notes this summer - with an innovative music production course for 13-19-year-olds.
The Music Soundz course is the first to be run by the Royal Borough's youth service as part of its annual 13-19 summer holiday activities programme.
Youth workers with a range of experience in the music industry will cover all the skills needed to compile and produce a CD including;
• vocal training and keyboard introduction
• songwriting
• introduction to instruments including guitar and drums
• operating a recording studio
• designing an album cover.
Two five-day courses - each for 10 participants - will run at 4 Marlow Road Youth Centre in Maidenhead from 6-10 August and 20-24 August from 11am to 4pm.
Cllr Eileen Quick, cabinet member for children's services, said: "This is a really great opportunity for young people interested in music to develop their skills in a very practical way - while having lots of fun as well.
"The youth workers who will be running the workshops are all highly talented musicians who are keen to share their expertise and enthusiasm with local youngsters.
"Places are limited on these courses so I would urge anyone who is interested to book their place as soon as possible."
The courses cost £35 for the week. To book call 01628 683694.
