Travel information - Clarence Road roundabout lane restrictions

Clarence Road roundabout in Windsor will be subject to lane restrictions from the evening of Monday 6 September to the end of the works in spring next year.

Initially the inside lane - the lane closest to the roundabout - will be closed to traffic to accommodate works on the island. At a later stage other lanes will be affected but two lanes will be maintained at all times around the roundabout.

The lane restrictions, which are part of the scheduled works, are necessary to continue improvements to the roundabout, including drainage, splitter islands and traffic light installation. They are required to enable the contractor to work safely and protect the public.

In addition, lane restrictions will be used on the southbound Windsor and Eton relief road (heading towards Windsor) on the approach to the roundabout. However two narrow lanes will remain open on the approach to the roundabout. Temporary give way markings will be used on the slip road from Maidenhead Road to help manage traffic through this area.

Vehicles will be diverted on Monday night to allow the setting up of the relief road lane mergers.
