A-level A* to C grades improve in Royal Borough

A-level results released yesterday (Thursday 18 August) reveal a rise in the number of pupils at Royal Borough schools achieving grades A* to C.

Provisional data provided by the eight schools shows:
• The percentage of pupils achieving A* grade (reporting of which was introduced for the first time last year) has increased from 3.8% to 5.5%
• The percentage achieving A* to A has increased from 19.4% to 20.7%
• For A* to C the percentage has increased from 70.9% to 71.8%.

The overall pass rate - the percentage of pupils getting A* to E - fell slightly from 97.7% to 97.4%.

Cllr Eileen Quick, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, said: "Well done to all the young people on achieving these excellent results - all that hard work has paid off!

"Many thanks too to all their teachers, support staff and school governors for their help and support."
