An outstanding set of results for students in Royal Borough

Hard-working Royal Borough GCSE and A-level students again notched up another year of excellent exam results.

GCSE students have once again recorded substantial improvements compared with previous years:

  • The percentage of students gaining five or more A* - C grades (including English and Maths) has risen from 60% last year to 64% this year.
  • The percentage of students gaining five or more A* to Cs has also risen from 77% in 2009 to 81% this year

The Borough's A-level students have also improved on last year:

  • A* - C grades are up 1.5% from 69.4% last year to 70.9% this year
  • A* - E grades are also up from 97.5% to 97.7%

Cllr Eileen Quick, lead member for children's services, said: "This is extremely encouraging news. I would like to congratulate all the pupils who have put in so much hard work and the teachers, staff and parents who have so diligently taught and supported them in their efforts.

"I am very proud of all our schools - of their continually improving results and of all the students who so richly deserve their successes. Well done everyone."

The figures, which are provisional at this stage, were provided by borough schools
