A great selection of breakfasts, lunches, snacks and drinks will be available in a new community café when it opens in the Town Hall on Thursday 21 July.
Run by local charity Age Concern Slough and Berkshire East, The Rendezvous is an independent venture which leases the ground floor space from the Council under a five-year agreement. All profits will go to ACSBE.
Staffed by older people and volunteers and working closely with the council's Ways into Work scheme, the café also offers training and work experience for adults with learning difficulties.
Cllr Simon Dudley, Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services, said the new café, along with Bridge that Gap in the Boyn Grove Community Resource Centre, means even more work experience opportunities for people with a learning difficulty.
He said: "I am delighted to see this venture reach this point. In the spirit of the Big Society it offers excellent opportunities for volunteers as well for people with a learning difficulty.
"What's more it is, quite simply, a popular and convenient venue for shoppers, office workers or anyone looking for a tasty meal or drink."
Tracey Morgan, Chief Executive of Age Concern Slough and Berkshire East, said: "We are delighted to have the chance to develop opportunities for older workers and those with learning difficulties.
"Everyone is welcome to come and try us out - we have really great coffee and will be open for breakfast from 8am. The emphasis is on freshly prepared healthy options, anything from a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich to fruit juices and muesli. There is also a comprehensive lunch menu."
