The call's out to all budding photographers

The Royal Borough's community wardens are launching a photography competition today (Tuesday 12 July) called 'Show me your community' - inviting residents to submit photos of what their area means to them in a bid to build community pride.

Cllr Phill Bicknell, Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Environment, said: "We're looking for photos that capture what you like about your community. That could be where you live, work, go to school or worship, the choice is yours.

"I hope this really fires residents' imaginations - we live in a beautiful area with so much to inspire people. Get snapping and send in your pictures."

Photographers of all ages and expertise are welcome to enter in either of two categories, under 18s or adults.

The winning and runner-up photos in each category and a selection of others chosen by the judges will be put on display in the Town Hall reception, Maidenhead library and Windsor library and the winning pictures will win an engraved glass trophy and certificate.

To qualify, photographs must be taken in the Royal Borough. For further information call 01628 685636 or email wardens@rbwm.gov.uk. Only digital photographs up to 10Mb can be accepted.

Entry forms and terms and conditions are available for downloading from the community safety website www.rbwmsafety4all.org.uk. Photographs should be emailed to wardens@rbwm.gov.uk The closing date is Friday 16 September.
