A castle and a boat are two of the fun new pieces of play equipment now being enjoyed by younger residents at the Shifford Crescent play area in Maidenhead.
Other attractions include a slide, see-saw and swings, all aimed at children aged eight and under.
The £40,000-worth of much-needed play equipment was installed after a local consultation earlier this year and all three Furze Platt ward councillors are delighted with the results.
Cllr Derek Sharp said: "We are extremely pleased to have been able to instigate this play area and feel sure it will be of great benefit to the younger children of the ward.
"This is just the first step in honouring our pre-election promise to actively promote a wide range of beneficial projects for the residents of Furze Platt."
Cllr Mohammed Ilyas said: "I believe the introduction of the Shifford Crescent play area will not only provide a safe, exciting and excellent recreational facility for the local children but will also enhance the local environment for all members of the community."
Cllr Hari Sharma said: "As Plato said 'you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation'. Playing is the only way the highest intelligence of human kind can unfold.
"I am delighted with the addition of these excellent facilities - the castle and boat in particular can help encourage children to boost their confidence and prepare for challenges."
Residents with ideas or projects they would like the ward councillors to promote are invited to take them to the monthly ward surgery at the Furze Platt Memorial Hall on the first Thursday of every month from 7 to 9pm.
