Restaurateurs invited to Mayor's charity launch

Restaurateurs from throughout the Royal Borough are invited to attend the official launch of the Mayor's charity initiative for the coming year.

To be held in the Guildhall, Windsor, on Friday 24 June at 6pm, the event will outline the scheme to give diners the opportunity to voluntarily donate to charity, for example by adding a 'little extra' to their bill when they dine out.

Any money raised will go direct to the charity, from the Mayor and Mayoress's approved list, that the restaurant chooses to support.

The Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Asghar Majeed and his sister Miss Naheed Majeed, are hopeful that the participation of local restaurants and generosity of diners will see funds going direct to their designated charities.

Cllr Majeed said: "I would like to invite every restaurant in the Royal Borough to come along and join in this exciting venture. Together we can create an environment of giving and help boost funds for a whole range of local charities."

Any restaurant that would like to send a representative to the launch, or find out more, should contact the Mayor's Secretary, Alison Singleton, on 01628 796223 or at mayors.parlour@rbwm.gov.uk
