The provision of childcare in the Royal Borough has recently been assessed and residents are now being urged to have their say on the survey's findings.
Last summer, the council's early years and childcare service carried out a survey of all its registered childcare providers to assess the supply of childcare places locally. This was followed by an independent survey of parents to establish their childcare needs. The results of the two surveys were then compared and a draft report document – the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment – detailing these results has now been produced.
Cllr Eileen Quick, lead member for children's services, said: "This is the most detailed and thorough assessment we have carried out of childcare locally. We will very much welcome feedback from parents, children, providers, employers and the wider community so we can highlight and deal with relevant issues."
The assessment will be available for comment from Tuesday March 4 to Tuesday
March 18 and can be downloaded either in summary or in full by going to

The final report will be published on the Children's Information Service page on the Royal Borough website in April and be made available through local libraries and schools.
