How fresh is the air we breathe?

Air pollution comes under the spotlight in March when residents are invited to learn about the quality of air in the Royal Borough and how it affects our health and the natural environment.

Visitors can tour the borough's air quality monitoring station at Silwood Park – an Imperial College London campus – just off Buckhurst Road in Ascot, on Saturday March 8 from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

Experts from the Royal Borough's countryside service and Imperial College will explain how air quality is managed and lead guided tours as part of National Science and Engineering Week (Friday March 7 to Sunday March 16 2008).

There is no need to book in advance, simply turn up on the day. Entrance is free but donations to Braywick Nature Centre are welcome.
