Have your say on crime and anti-social behaviour

Royal Borough residents are being urged to make their views known on crime and anti-social behaviour in the borough at a public meeting this month.

The Royal Borough's Community Safety Partnership is inviting residents to its annual public meeting on Thursday 16 June - to be held in the Desborough Suite, Town Hall, Maidenhead, from 6 to 8pm.

The meeting will review progress over the past year against the partnership's priorities and give residents and businesses the opportunity to help establish crime and disorder priorities for the future.

Attending will be representatives of Thames Valley Police, Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Thames Valley Probation and NHS Berkshire East. There will be an open question and answer session and also the opportunity to talk to individual organisations on a one-to-one basis.

Cllr Phill Bicknell, Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Environment, said: "We know crime and anti-social behaviour are key concerns for residents and this is why we will continue to do all we can with our partners to reduce crime and disorder. This meeting will give residents the opportunity to meet us face to face and discuss what we are doing to tackle crime.

"All partners are determined to bring down crime and take a tough approach against perpetrators. The meeting will help the partnership determine its priorities for 2011/12 and I urge residents and businesses to come along."

Ian Trenholm, Chief Executive and Chair of the Community Safety Partnership, said: "This event will be a good opportunity for residents and businesses to have their say in helping to establish strategic priorities for the future and learn more about the positive work we have been doing over the past year."

Supt Tim De Meyer, Local Police Area Commander, said: "This is an opportunity for people to find out what Thames Valley Police and the Royal Borough have been doing to fight crime over the last year, hold us to account for keeping the area safe and tell us about the problems which most concern them."
