The Royal Borough's community safety partnership is encouraging residents to support the borough's first Love Your Community Week which runs from Monday 14 February to Saturday 19 February.
Throughout the week community wardens, police, housing associations and residents' associations will be out and about in the borough carrying out clean-up days, hosting information stands with crime reduction advice, carrying out a community speed watch and property marking events.
The week was the brainchild of the borough's community wardens who wanted to do something a bit different for Valentine's Day.
Cllr Colin Rayner, Cabinet Member for Highways and Streetcare, said: "Once again our community wardens have taken an innovative approach to further improving our borough. Community involvement is key to a safer community for all and Love Your Community Week enables us to work with parish councils and other partners and embody the spirit of the Big Society.
"The week should not be seen as one off - we work tirelessly throughout the year with our partners to ensure we deal robustly with issues that matter to residents and to ensure that incidents of crime and anti-social behaviour go down. By working with Thames Valley Police we want to make the Royal Borough a safe and clean place to work, rest and play.
"I would urge anyone living in the borough to come along to their local event to learn more about the work that the community wardens do.
"The borough takes a zero tolerance approach to litter and graffiti and our community wardens will fine any anti-social behaviour such as litter and graffiti."
Andy Aldridge, Senior Community Warden, said: "This is a first for the borough and I am delighted that the wardens wanted to something a bit different and are spearheading such an exciting initiative. These events help us achieve a greener, cleaner and safer borough and actively involve local communities in the work we do."
