Shop and skate in Windsor this Christmas and New Year

Shoppers in Windsor can enjoy a special festive treat in the shape of a free skating session at the popular ice rink as part of an innovative "shop and skate" deal in the run up to Christmas and into the New Year.

Residents and visitors who spend more than £50 in one transaction in any Windsor or Eton shop will be entitled to a free skating session at the ice rink in Alexandra Gardens on the same day as they make their purchase until the rink closes on Monday 3 January.

The offer has no cash value and is only valid when taken with one other full paying adult. Only original receipts will be accepted. The offer is valid for the next available session and does not guarantee a specific time.

Cllr Colin Rayner, chairman of Windsor and Eton Town Partnership, said: "This is a great way of making a trip to Windsor and Eton both festive and really enjoyable, and will hopefully attract additional visitors to sample the fantastic variety of shops in both towns.

"I hope as many people as possible will take advantage and join in the Christmas and New Year fun at the ice rink. We are delighted that it is back again this year so let's make it a real success! And please don't forget that The Dials car park is open at weekends to help smooth your parking needs!"

The ice rink - provided by Cities on Ice - opened on Saturday (13 December) and runs until Monday 3 January. It can accommodate up to 130 skaters at each session and is covered by a marquee which means it can still be used in inclement weather.

All Royal Borough Advantage Card holders are entitled to a 10% discount on pre-booked ticket prices when buying from the Royal Borough Information Centre in Windsor Royal Shopping:
• on-line at www.windsor.gov.uk. You will need to enter a special promotional code to get your Advantage Card discount - check website for details and present your card at the ice rink at the time of your session to verify your membership
• by calling the Royal Borough Information Centre box office on 01753 743915
• in person from the Royal Borough Information Centre in Windsor Royal Shopping.

Tickets are £9.50 for adults, £7 for children under 16 and £28 for a family ticket (two adults and two children or one adult and three children).
