Local arrangements for the state visit later this month are now well advanced and the Royal Borough and Thames Valley Police will be issuing detailed information booklets for residents and businesses ahead of the event.
Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh will welcome the Amir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in Windsor on Tuesday 27 November.
The ceremonial welcome will be followed by a carriage procession through the streets to the castle and the event is expected to attract additional numbers of people to the town.
Businesses in Windsor town centre will be open as usual on both the day of the state visit itself and the rehearsal on Thursday 22 November, and both the council and the police are working closely together - and with the Royal Household - to minimise disruption and provide as much information as possible to businesses and residents along the processional route.
Mayor Cllr Colin Rayner said that once again the Royal Borough was proud to support the Queen in her official duties.
He said: "We are very lucky in the Diamond Jubilee year to have a state occasion in Windsor and are delighted Her Majesty has once again chosen our town as the venue for the official welcome. We warmly welcome The Amir of Kuwait to our Royal Borough. We hope it leads to lasting friendships.
"I am sure many people will take the opportunity to come into the town centre to watch the procession and it is also a great opportunity for residents and visitors alike to enjoy Windsor itself and appreciate everything our historic town has to offer."
The information booklets - containing the procession map, road closure times and parking arrangements - will be hand-delivered to residents and business on or near the processional route from next week. The information will also be available on the council's website www.rbwm.gov.uk
There will be unavoidable road closures and traffic delays on both rehearsal and state visit days and more information will be issued nearer the time. This will be available on the council's website at www.rbwm.gov.uk and on the police website at www.thamesvalley.police.uk
