Manor Green School becomes the latest school in Maidenhead to Adopt-a-Street on Tuesday 8 November.
At 10.30am, Cllr Christine Bateson, cabinet member for planning and partnerships, will officially launch the scheme to adopt Elizabeth Hawkes Way, Maidenhead.
Cllr Christine Bateson said: "I would like to thank Manor Green School for coming on board, adding to the growing list of schools signed up to keeping their areas clean and tidy. Children are great ambassadors for Adopt-a-Street.
"It is important that we work with children to educate them about the importance of being responsible citizens who really care about their local community and ensure it remains pleasant and free of litter and graffiti for everyone to enjoy, now and in the future."
Mrs Ania Hildrey, Manor Green School's headteacher said: "Our school's mission statement is to be a centre of excellence for all students with special educational needs. In our daily practice we promote academic progress, care and therapeutic learning support and promotion of life skills and life enrichment. Adopt-a-Street is a brilliant way to promote the values of proactive, responsible and caring citizenship. I am confident that all the pupils of Manor Green School will enjoy making a difference to the street which leads all visitors to our gates. I want to thank Miss Sarah Mitchell, the teacher who led on the initiative".
Adopt-a-Street encourages residents to volunteer to care for their communities and local environment by collecting litter from their local streets and areas and complements the council's regular cleaning schedule.
Manor Green joins 13 other schools, two businesses, five community groups and one neighbourhood watch scheme in the successful Adopt-a-Street scheme.
