The Royal Borough has once again been successful in securing a High Court injunction preventing unauthorised traveller encampments.
An emergency injunction was granted late last Friday (22 October) after the judge accepted evidence from planning enforcement officers of the likelihood of serious unauthorised works occurring over the weekend at Little Farm Nursery, North Town Moor in Maidenhead.
The injunction prohibits the dumping of hardcore, and the bringing of caravans and other works on to the site. In addition the council placed material across the entrance to the site to help prevent any unauthorised access.
The successful action follows two other emergency injunctions granted in the High Court in May preventing similar unauthorised traveller incursions at two sites in Waltham St Lawrence.
Cllr Alison Knight, lead member for planning and development, said: "This latest injunction demonstrates the council's clear commitment to protecting Green Belt land. Our enforcement officers once again worked really hard to get this case through the High Court and the injunction shows how hard the borough will fight to stop those who ignore planning regulations."
Cllr Simon Dudley, deputy leader of the council and ward member, added: "This is a very positive outcome and it demonstrates in no uncertain terms that the council will act swiftly on behalf of Royal Borough residents.
"I have been in contact with nearby residents and they are hugely grateful for these efforts."
