A warm Royal Borough welcome has been issued to the management and staff of digital giant Adobe which will open its doors in Maidenhead on Monday (12 September).
The company is setting up its European headquarters in Market House, part of the Sainsbury's complex in the town centre, where they have taken over a large proportion of the 75,000sq ft building.
Cllr David Burbage, Council Leader, said the council was delighted to welcome Adobe and wish the company every success in its new accommodation.
He said: "Adobe's decision to position its European headquarters in Maidenhead is another positive signal that our town is growing in reputation as a great place for companies to be. Through PRoM (Partnership for the Rejuvenation of Maidenhead) we have been building a robust foundation for attracting new businesses and developers - and with the council due to sign off the area action plan at the end of September we are well placed to market the town to potential investors.
"We are also looking forward to receiving the planning application for the ING Kings Triangle development which is expected in the autumn, and we have a number of high profile sites either already under development or expected to go ahead in the foreseeable future.
"With this level of economic activity it wasn't surprising to find that the Colliers International study earlier this year showed that Maidenhead is one of only 3% of 'improving' town centres in the country.
Cllr Richard Kellaway, Lead Member for Maidenhead, said: "The council has a firm commitment to doing everything possible to promote Maidenhead's development and investment potential. We are beginning to see firm progress and, as the country's economy recovers, I am confident we will see even more exciting interest in the town."
Maidenhead town manager Steph James has organised 'welcome bags' for all Adobe employees.
She explained: "With more than 300 new employees in the town centre this is a tremendous opportunity to highlight Maidenhead business and leisure offers. We have had a really good response from local owners and managers who have put forward a wide range of special offers and discounts to welcome the Adobe employees to our town."
