The Royal Borough's traditional 21 gun salute in Windsor will once again mark the birthday of Her Majesty The Queen on Thursday 21 April.
Everyone is invited to the event - particularly children who are often given the opportunity to fire one of the council's mini cannons, under the watchful eye of experienced borough bombardier John Matthews.
The salute, which usually attracts a sizeable crowd of spectators, will take place at The Long Walk near the Brook Street entrance to Windsor Castle. The first cannon will be fired on the stroke of 12noon.
The birthday tribute will be led by the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Asghar Majeed, who is looking forward to this very special Windsor event.
He said: "This is a great opportunity for Royal borough residents and visitors to say 'happy birthday' to her Majesty on her 85th birthday. I hope the weather is fine and that we will see many people from the local community - especially children - joining in."
