Have your say on future of Vansittart Recreation Ground

Windsor residents are invited to give their views on potential improvements to Vansittart Recreation Ground in Vansittart Road, be it more trees and flowers, extra seating, new sports, skating and play facilities, a kiosk or public toilets.

Residents living closest to the recreation ground have received a questionnaire through their letterbox, but the Royal Borough is keen to also hear the opinions of park users who live further afield.

The questionnaire is available online, and residents are also invited to attend a walk-in consultation on Saturday 9 October from 12noon to 3pm at Vansittart Recreation Ground where they can discuss their ideas with council officers. If it is raining on the day the consultation will be held in the Windsor Youth and Community Centre in Alma Road.

Consultation results will be used to decide a 10-year plan for the park, and will help with obtaining funding from various sources.

Cllr Simon Dudley, lead member for adult and community services, said: "We want to make sure we provide an open space that meets the current and future needs of the community.

"I would encourage anyone who uses Vansittart Recreation Ground to complete the questionnaire and let us know what improvements they would like to see in the park."

The consultation closes at 4pm on Friday 15 October and the results will be available after Christmas.

The questionnaire can be found at www.rbwm.gov.uk/web/lc_consultations.htm. Further information is available at the same web address, by emailing outdoor.facilities@rbwm.gov.uk or by phoning 01628 796482.
