Royal Borough residents are encouraged to be really good eggs and remember to recycle this Easter.
Each year about 8,000 tonnes of waste is generated from the 80 million chocolate eggs sold in the UK - yet the traditional card packaging can easily be recycled by placing in the blue bin.
To further encourage Easter recycling, eight bring sites with distinctive yellow collection containers specifically for foil can be found at:
• Grange car park, High Street, Ascot
• Cookham Railway station
• Wessex Way shopping parade, Magnet Leisure Centre and the civic amenity site in Stafferton Way, Maidenhead
• Sutherland Grange, Tinkers Lane and Windsor Leisure Centre in Windsor.
Residents are also reminded that there will be refuse and recycling collections on Friday 29 April, the date of Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton. Collections on this special bank holiday will continue to be made as per the Changes to Collection card already published for the Easter holiday period.
Residents can refer to the card, sent out last year, for confirmation of when their refuse and recycling will be collected over the Easter period. The information is also available at www.rbwm.gov.uk/web/wm_easter_holiday_changes.htm
Street party organisers are advised to ensure all bins are ready for collection by 7am on Saturday 30 April as the teams will aim to collect these first.
