The 'Hands-on Learning' programme is run by Reading Museum
Service to provide real objects for learning within the classroom.
Boxes of objects associated with Windsor and Maidenhead have been chosen from the Windsor & Royal Borough Museum for lending to schools across Berkshire and beyond.
They have been developed and packaged, together with teaching material, in partnership with Reading Museum Service.

Taught sessions in the galleries at the Museum of Reading, and in the classroom are also provided, led by trained museum staff.
Reading Museum Services have also created Memory Boxes for older members of the community, packed with artefacts, documents and photographs. Reminiscence sessions can have very positive outcomes for patients with memory loss and dementia. Health and social services staff can arrange to borrow boxes from Reading.
Please contact Reading Mobile Library Services directly for further information on 0118 901 5118 or email mobile.library@reading.gov.uk
All enquiries for these services should be made to Reading Museum Service, not to Windsor & Royal Borough Museum office.
