Museum Frequently Asked Questions

In general museums used to collect everything but they now specialise in objects. If newspapers/newspaper cuttings, the local studies section at the library may be interested in having them. Manuscripts would be taken by Berkshire Record Office. If an object, it would first need to be looked at by the Museum and Collections Officer before we can decide whether to keep it at the museum as we have very limited space.

  11. When can I visit your museum store to do research?
  12. What if I’ve found something interesting digging in my back garden or walking locally?
