Mayor: Frequently Asked Questions

If the Mayor is not chairing an event, s/he should sit to the right of the host.  If a member of the Royal Family or the Lord Lieutenant is present the Mayor should sit on the left of the host.

When the Mayoress/Mayor's Consort or Escort accompanies the Mayor s/he should sit next to the Mayor.

If the Mayoress/Mayor's Consort or Escort attend without the Mayor for any reason, s/he should sit where the Mayor would normally sit.
