My News - Cllr Etherington

Since my election in May 2007 my activities have focused upon four main areas:

  1. Representing Hurley and Walthams at meetings in the Town Hall
  2. Campaigning on issues relevant to residents; such as the state of our roads, speeding, fly-tipping and the service offered to travellers by First Great Western (with whom we are due to meet again in January)
  3. Undertaking 'casework' on behalf of individual residents
  4. Supporting local events such as school fetes/village fayres.

I also chair the Sustainability Panel which has now met several times.  The Panel has a direct line to Cabinet and looks to champion green and community issue/constructively challenge all aspects of Council life in the Royal Borough.  We are championing recycling and reducing the Council's own Carbon footprint, such there are lots of things going on behind the scenes.

We have now held four local surgeries; in Woodlands Park, in Hurley, in Knowl Hill and in Waltham St Lawrence.  Watch the parish magazines and local papers for future meetings.

I am of course happy to progress matters sooner so do feel free to email or phone me in the interests of a faster turnaround on any local matters, in particular in respect of road repairs in the ward.
