Borough Guide

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is:-

  • a borough steeped in tradition, yet attracting investment by world leaders in new technologies;
  • a centre of civic and ceremonial splendour, yet offering 21st century lifestyle opportunities for all ages; and
  • an idyll of leafy countryside by the River Thames, yet offering busy, modern leisure and entertainment facilities.

Windsor Castle viewed from the River ThamesThe rich diversity of life in the Royal Borough is reflected in the new edition of the Borough Guide - published in March 2005.

The guide, produced in conjunction with British Publishing and at no cost to council taxpayers, offers you a flavour of our unique borough, highlighting the strong sense of community pride and introducing you to the many Council services which touch the lives of local people on a daily basis.  It shows a borough with "buzz" - proud of its royal connections and rich history but open to innovation and a willingness to embrace the change, challenge and opportunities of the future.

The guide also reflects the Council's role as a community leader, working with residents, businesses and partner organisations to help make the borough a good place to live, work and visit.

Copies of the new Borough Guide are available through council offices and libraries.
