Forward Plan

As part of the Council's Constitution a 'Forward Plan' of 'Key' decisions* will be published monthly listing decisions that will be taken by the Executive, any sub committees of the Executive, or by individual Members or officers acting under delegated powers.

The Forward Plan which can be accessed below, will also give details about which Councillors or officers should be contacted should you wish to find out more details about the items listed, any consultation that is being undertaken and when the decision will be taken.

Should you wish to find out more about the Forward Plan, any of the items listed on it or about the Constitution then please email in the first instance to democratic.services@rbwm.gov.uk.

* Key decisions are defined in the Local Government Act 2000 as:

  1. those that result in the Local Authority incurring expenditure which is, or the making of savings which are, significant, having regard to the Local Authority's budget for the service or function to which the decision relates, or
  2. those that are significant in terms of the effects on communities living or working in an area comprising two or more wards or electoral divisions in the area of the Local Authority.

The financial threshold for the first definition is something that each Council can set for itself, but the Council must take account of any guidance issued by the Secretary of State.

This Council has decided that the financial thresholds are:

  1. for Capital items, £500,000 or 20% of the relevant budget heading; and
  2. for Revenue items, £250,000 or 20% of the relevant budget heading.
