Petitions - To consider the following petitions:

  • Car Parking In Maidenhead Town Centre (Word 48kb): "With the recent introduction of changes to the method of paying to park in Maidenhead Town Centre, it has affected the way in which visitors to Maidenhead shop. Shoppers have to keep a careful eye on the time and often need to return to the car park to increase their parking time. This affects both shoppers and visitors to Maidenhead Town Centre and also the businesses that strive to provide a service to the town. The Town Planners have not considered that this has an extremely detrimental effect on how shoppers react. They are unable to shop at leisure browsing and making carefully considered decisions, everything has to be done in a rush so they do not incur exorbitant and unjust parking fines. With nearby Towns having no such restrictions and also offering very much more by way of range of shops and department stores it is obvious that shoppers could decide quite understandably to shop elsewhere. The aim of the petition is to obtain the support of EVERY business within the Town to request a restoration of the previous method of paying to park (i.e. Pay upon leaving for the time parked instead of having to guess how long you will take to shop). We urge every business to support this petition."
  • Gordon Road: Parking and Traffic Lines (Word 67kb): We the undersigned urge the Council to take action to improve the residents quality of life. Firstly, we request that the Council improve the road markings along Gordon Road, clearly indicating the no parking areas in front of all the residents' driveways. We propose a box marking with either a cross or no parking marked within it.Secondly, to make a clear statement to the residents "Should the additional road markings not improve the parking situation along Gordon Road, the opening hours of the Supermarket would be limited to a more conventional timing of 8am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.Thirdly, we wish the Council to consider the following proposals: A residents parking permit scheme or a One way system within the Gordon and Wellington Roads areas.
