Petitions - To consider the following petitions:
- Old Windsor Bus Service (word 535KB) - "We the undersigned urgently request that the Borough Council/First Group reinstate the '43' bus route along Burfield Road/St Luke's Road. The removal of this service has restricted the independence of many parishioners that live to the west of Straight Road. A number of changes have taken place in order to provide new links to Heathrow's Terminal 5.As per the 'First Group' website:'Route 71 is a new service, replacing routes 41 and 43. Buses will operate every 30 minutes during the daytime, hourly evenings and Sundays. Earlier journeys will also operate every day. Buses will continue beyond Staines to Terminal 5.' Unfortunately Route 71 does not allow for alternate bus routes in Old Windsor, the '71' only services the Straight Road and not Burfield Road/St Luke's Road. It has denied the many elderly residents of the almshouses, retirement mobile homes and other dwellings near St Luke's and Burfield Road a much needed access to public transport within their walking abilities. The lack of independence to access the larger shopping areas of Windsor or Staines will contribute to a decrease in their quality of life. Also affected are families with small children who are unable to walk the long distance with shopping and children who used the '43' to and from school in Windsor. The lack of a bus service to the west of Straight Road will discourage parents from allowing their child to use public transport for school journeys as it would require crossing the main road on the return journey and also impose a longer walk in the dark during the winter. In these days of enhanced awareness of our 'carbon footprint' it appears ludicrous that the changes to Old Windsor's services are compelling some residents into increased use of their cars."
- Old Windsor Traffic Survey (word 50KB) - "We the undersigned urgently request that the Borough Council authorise a village wide traffic survey in Old Windsor with a subsequent action plan to alleviate the problems in the village with particular emphasis on the A308 (Straight Road), St Peter's Road, Church Road intersection where a serious accident is waiting to happen."
- Holyport Manor School (word 60KB) - "The 167 petitioners request that the Borough Council should reconsider the decision to relocate Holyport Manor School to Cox Green."
