PETITIONS - To consider the following petitions:

  • Gloucester Place, Windsor - "We are asking you to add your support in our proposal to resurface the road in Gloucester Place Place with the existing cobbles and re-conditioned cobbles. The road has seen a gradual deterioration over the past 10 years leading to an unsightly road in a key conservation area. The other main area for concern is the lack of drainage which has led to partial flooding. This is a petition that carries the support of all three Windsor Conservative Councillors. With a strong majority of Gloucester Place residents, Cllr Catherine Bursnall will present this petition to Cabinet and ask for funding in order to restore the road and additional drainage."
  • Laing Estate, West Windsor - "The residents named below would like to petition for the introduction of 20mph for the residential area between Ruddlesway and Smith's Lane (20mph already partly in place) and Dedworth Road and Maidenhead Road. The application for such a restriction is being sought for the following reasons:

    · lack of policing

    · dangerous driving activity

    · lots of vehicles parked on the roads restricting movement

    · Homer First School safety issues

    · recent incidents (serious crash - Longmead and cases of abuse to residents)

    · Hot rods and Mopeds racing around in convoys

    · being used as a cut through for main road traffic

    · learner driver activity

All of the above are serious issues which could affect the local community which has a large child population. The recent PACT report Oct 07) produced by Government also urges local authorities to take such actions stating the impact data at 20mph/30mph/40mph."
