Refuse and Recycling

Refuse and Recycling
This provides day of week which refuse and recycling is collected or will state if the property selected cannot be found as a residential property.

Recycling Nearby
Provide details of the nearest recycling collection point and details of what recycling items can be recycled there.

Council and Democracy

Council Buildings
This layer only includes Council Buildings. Buildings where you can pay bills and which have a Customer Service Centre are identified in the text results on both My House and the interactive map.

Councillor Wards
This layer shows the Borough's wards. Councillors within each ward are displayed in the text results.

Parish Boundaries
This layer shows the Borough's Parish Boundaries.

Polling Districts
This layer shows the Borough's Polling Districts.

Polling Stations
This layer shows the location of the Boroughs Polling Stations.

Education and Learning

Nursery Schools
This layer only includes Borough maintained nurseries not independent or private nurseries

Primary Age Schools
This layer only includes Borough maintained primary age schools not independent or private primary age schools

Secondary Age Schools
This layer only includes Borough maintained secondary age schools not independent or private secondary age schools

Special Schools
This layer only includes the Borough's only maintained special school not independent or private special schools

Primary School Designated Areas
This layer only includes Borough maintained primary age schools not independent or private primary age schools. The admissions rules for a school will normally prioritise places for children and young people living in the 'designated area' (otherwise known as a 'catchment area').

Secondary School Designated Areas
This layer only includes Borough maintained secondary age schools not independent or private secondary age schools. The admissions rules for a school will normally prioritise places for children and young people living in the 'designated area' (otherwise known as a 'catchment area').

Youth and Community Centres
This layer shows centres run by the Borough.

Environment and Planning

Building Regulations
The Building Regulations are legal requirements aimed at achieving minimum standards of construction. They are levels of performance laid down by Parliament which deal with the construction of buildings and the installation of some services. The regulations cover a comprehensive range of requirements including issues such as structural stability, fire safety, moisture resistance, saving energy and making buildings suitable for disabled people. If you want to put up a new building or extend or alter an existing one, the Building Regulations will probably apply. They will probably also apply if you put a building to a differing use. The Building Control Team evaluate plans and inspect building work in progress to ensure that the regulations are met.

Conservation Areas
This layer displays Conservations Areas within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Enforcement Notices.
The enforcement team are responsible for investigating alleged breaches of planning permission. These may occur where works are undertaken without planning permission being obtained or where works do not follow the plans or conditions agreed when the permission was granted. Where such a breach is found to have occurred, the enforcement team will issue a notice identifying how the works are in breach and what must be done to rectify the situation.  These notices attach to the property and will continue in force even if the property changes hands.

Greenbelt
This layer displays Greenbelt Areas within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Listed Buildings
This layers displays Listed Buildings within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. It is important to note that the listed buildings identified on the maps show only the approximate outline of the individual building that is identified in the official list. This should be used for identification purposes only. Those with an interest in the building should be aware that the listed building legislation also applies to some buildings within the curtilage of the principal listed building, and the definition of the curtilage can include buildings that were once associated with a building, but have subsequently been separated.  Also, structures within the grounds of a listed building, such as garden walls are likely to be protected by the legislation.

This is a legally complex matter and if there are any doubts as to whether a building might be subject to listed building controls, it is recommended that the Council is contacted for further guidance. Also when identifying that a building is not shown as being listed, it would be more accurate to say that the building is not a principal listed building identified in the statutory list of buildings of special architectural or historic interest.

Recycling Centres
This layer displays Recycling Centres within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The text results how the types of waste allowed at each centre.

Planning Applications
Both My House and the interactive map display current planning applications only within a 500m buffer zone of the selected property.  For full history details of a site please contact our Customer Service Centre on 01628 683800.  Under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended) planning applications which have been approved (for example Full permissions, Listed Building Consents, Conservation Area Consents, Outline permissions and Reserved Matters) before the 24th August 2005 have a time limit for implementation of 5 years from the date of approval. 

Planning applications approved on or after the 24th August 2005 have a time limit for implementation of 3 years from date of approval.  Some minor types of development (for example householder extensions) and change of use may not require planning permission under the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 (as amended) for which no planning application need be submitted.

Leisure and Culture

Leisure Centres
This layer includes public leisure centres only.

Main or Container Libraries
This layer displays both main and container libraries across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Mobile Library Stops
This layer displays only public mobile library stops within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead

Transport and Streets

Adopted Highways
This layer shows highways maintained by the Council including any footways and verges.

Un-adopted Highways (Private Streets)
This layer shows highways, which may include footways and verges, that are not maintained by the Council and are instead maintained by the residents of that road or a third party.

Borough Controlled Car Parks
This layer includes Borough controlled car parks only.

Salting Routes
This layer displays primary and secondary salting routes within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Street Lights
This layer displays (when zoomed in far enough) street lights. The Information tab provides the street light identifier, which can be used to report a fault.

Speed Cameras
This layer includes Traffic Calming Speed Camera locations within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Surrounding Area.

Train Stations
This layer displays the location of Train Stations within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
