Temporary Event Notice - Licensing Act 2003

What are Temporary Event Notices?

Temporary event notices can be used to authorise relatively small-scale short term ad hoc alcohol and public entertainment events which are held in or on any premises. Each application costs £21 and anyone aged 18 or over can submit a TENS application. Licensable activities are:

  • The sale of alcohol by retail
  • The supply of alcohol by or on behalf of a club to, or to the order of, a member of a club
  • The provision of regulated entertainment
  • The provision of late night refreshment (between 11 pm and 5 am)
