We take an active approach to improving library services.
Multi-Lib multimedia development programme
This looks at uses of multimedia in libraries. Multi-Lib
work to date includes our popular award winning computer games,
which provide fun while developing basic computer skills for young library
users. Multi-Lib games are available to use under licence by other
UK library services, and are enjoyed by many children on library computers in
Windsor & Maidenhead, Buckinghamshire, Norfolk and Southampton.
Reports on Multi-Lib work are available below.
webwords
This was a pilot that successfully demonstrated a single means
of sound browsing library catalogues by connecting common web
technologies. webwords was proven to work with the
major library catalogues. For this webwords was
judged winner of the 2005 Jodi Mattes Web Accessibility Excellence award.
Due to developments in other audio technologies that will supercede the need
for it, webwords is no longer being developed after
December 2006. For further information visit the webwords website:

ThamesPilot
We were the lead authority in this lottery funded website that collects
archive images and information about the history of the Thames, launched in
2004. The ThamesPilot website is:
