Carpeting works

Photo of a pile of books in a libraryWeek commencing 6th October - This week access is restored to  DVD stock in its newly re-carpeted home location.

During the course of the week, there will be some disruption in access to the foyer area as the high level clean progresses on the internal spaceframe.

First floor access may also be disrupted as the stair treads are re-carpeted but access will be retained either via the remaining staircase or via the passenger lift.

Patio refurbishment

Work is progressing on the refurbishment of the First Floor patio areas.  Much of this external work is unavoidably noisy.  We are endeavouring to keep disruption to a minimum.

Thank you for your patience and support during this period.

Background Information and alternative access to library services

Major refurbishment re-carpeting work has started at Maidenhead Library and continues until November 2008.

The works are necessary to improve the library for customers: -

    • Replacement of flooring screed, and old, worn out carpeting
    • Refurbishment of the front ramp
    • Repairs to the external landing areas

We apologise for the unavoidable disruption, but we are working hard to try to minimise this.  We thank you in advance for your patience

During the works there will be limited service, at different times, to most services including:

    • Public computers and services that required them (e.g. printing)
    • Reduction in access to books and other stock in each library area in turn as it is re-carpeted
    • Lack of access to toilets

Alternative access will be maintained where possible within the building.  Customers are also advised to consider using our other libraries.

Please visit this page for contact details of alternative libraries.

For computer access, Cox Green Library has 16 computers, has free parking and customers can spend 65 minutes on the PCs.
