You can join online now by visiting the Library Catalogue. Simply
visit the link below, and follow the instructions.

Joining at your library
- You can also join at your local library. You will need to
fill in a form.
- Please bring proof of your name and address and proof of your
signature to your library.
- Accepted proofs include driving licence, medical card, bank
statement, current bill etc, and one proof must have your
signature.
- If you are under 16, your parent or guardian will need to be with
you to sign your form, and they will need to show similar proof of name
and address
- Once issued with your library card, remember to bring it with you
to borrow items
- When you join the library you agree to abide by the
rules and regulations

What can I borrow?
- You can borrow up to 24 items in total
- This can be any combination of different items, such as books,
CDs, videos, DVDs (at selected libraries only) and audio
books.
- This is the same for everyone, adult or child. You can use
your card at any library straight away.
For how long?
- Books, CDs, Cassettes, CD-ROMs are issued for 3 weeks
- Videos, DVDs and magazines are issued for 1 week
How much?
- There is no charge to borrow books, and there is a small charge to
hire audio-visual material.

What else?
- With your card you can use the Internet for free, issue your own
books, check out what you've got on loan, renew your books by phone
or on line and there's so much more!

Returns and Renewals
- Items borrowed from a library within the Royal Borough of Windsor
and Maidenhead may be returned to any other library in the Borough
- There is a charge for items returned late. A full list of current
charges is displayed in the library.
- Please try to return your books and other items on time, or renew
them to avoid overdue charges
- You can usually renew books, and other items, if nobody else
has requested them. Please note they may only be renewed 4
times by telephone, post or self-service renewal facility. To
renew for a fifth time please bring the items into the library.
- Items may be renewed at any Borough Library, regardless of which
Library items were borrowed from.
Self-service renewals
- To renew items using any self service facility you will require a
PIN number(*see below), and will need to have your library card with
you.
- To renew using the Web catalogue use the related link in the
navigation.
Reservations
- Books, periodical articles and some audio - visual items not
immediately available may be reserved for a charge - just ask staff for
details.
- You can place your own reservations via an Online Public Access
machine or through the Web catalogue using the link on the left
navigation. For this you will need a PIN (*see below).

To obtain a PIN number see a member of staff in your local Royal Borough
Library.
