An historical family group photoFamily History Advice Session

(as part of Windsor Library's Community Day)

Ground floor, Windsor Library, Saturday 1 June 2013, 10am - 1pm.

The Berkshire Family History Society and the Borough's Local Studies Librarian will be jointly staging this session at Windsor Library. Whether you are just beginning to investigate your family tree or are more advanced in this fascinating, and often addictive hobby, we are happy to use our expertise to help you with any genealogical problems you bring in.

Society members and staff will make use of the Borough's online subscription to Ancestry to help you, though staff can also call upon other subscriptions. For more information about all of these, please go to this webpage.

Maidenhead Mapped!

Ground Floor, Maidenhead Library; Monday 20th May - Saturday 22nd June 2013.

Maidenhead Library is currently holding an exhibition of some of the most significant historical maps of the centre of Maidenhead showing changes during much of the last 200 years.

This includes the story of the celebrated Silver map which shows Maidenhead as it was in the early C19th; a Terry's survey map from 1840s plus copies of several super-scale (1:500) plans of Maidenhead town centre showing how it looked in 1875!

Several other maps from the C20th finish off the exhibition.

To see Maidenhead as you've never seen it before, make sure you don't miss Maidenhead Mapped!
