Local & Family History

We collect and make available, material relating to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and also Cliveden and Taplow Court. We have the longest established collection in the borough and trained professional staff to help you. Most material is for use in the library only but some may be borrowed. Items may be reproduced, for a small charge, in accordance with copyright regulations.

The major collections are in Maidenhead and Windsor Libraries, but all have relevant local books for the area. 'What we have' is a detailed listing of our collections, resources and services, ranging from online services to census returns and city, town, county and regional directories as well as a research service. We also have cuttings and local newspaper archives on microfilm, and photographs. Microfilm readers can be booked for use at Maidenhead and Windsor Libraries.
