Maidenhead Library Improvements

The Maidenhead Library Replacement Lighting and Rewiring Project will lead to

• Improvements in lighting levels throughout the library,
• A reduced carbon-footprint from energy saving fittings
• Improved safety

The work is being phased to keep the library open throughout and is due to be completed during May 2010.

Current Phase - First Floor - Due to be completed by 29th March 2010
The current area affected is the high bay lighting. We have asked the contractors to do as much of this work out of hours as possible in order to minimise disruption and for health and safety reasons. However, the first floor will be closed from 6pm for two weeks on our late evenings. This work should be completed by 29 March. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused and do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff if there is anything you require from areas affected on the 1st floor. We will do our best to accommodate you.

The next phase - Ground Floor
This will include all of the adult non-fiction alcoves (biographies, stock in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali and Gujarati, poetry, plays, and the European Language stock). A selection of stock will be made available from these sections. We will offer free reservations from other libraries for the stock areas affected during the course of the works.
