Home Library Service

  • Do you have mobility difficulties in getting to your local library?
  • Are you a full-time carer whose responsibilities prevent you from visiting our libraries?
  • Then our free Home Library Service is here to meet your needs

How do I receive this service?

You can either refer yourself or you can be referred by someone else. For more information about the service please contact us at home.library@rbwm.gov.uk , ring Maidenhead Library on 01628 796969 or complete our online application form.

What happens once a referral is made?

If you're not able to complete our online application form, we can send you an application form which you can fill in and return to us. We will arrange a home visit at a time convenient to you, to discuss your needs, the books you like to read or listen to. The service you receive will then be tailored to suit your needs and help you discover new interests. A volunteer will visit you every three weeks with new items based on what you have told us.

What can I borrow?

In using this service you will have access to all the materials that are available in libraries. We can provide you with books in large and ordinary print, fiction or non-fiction, audio books. If we don't stock a particular book, we will make every effort to obtain it for you. If you are studying at home this service can support you.
