These services are available at all libraries unless indicated otherwise. *Discounted prices apply for Advantage card holders.

You can borrow books and other items for free:

  • A wide selection of books for all ages is available at all libraries
  • Graphic novels, magazines and comics are available at some libraries.

You can also borrow a wide choice of audio-visual stock.
There is a charge to borrow all of these items.

  • All libraries have talking books and language courses
  • There are music CDs at Maidenhead, Container and Cox Green libraries
  • Most libraries have DVDs for hire

Video Games in the following formats can also be borrowed:

  • Xbox 360 games are at Maidenhead, Windsor, Cookham, Cox Green and Datchet libraries
  • PS2 games are at Maidenhead, Windsor, Ascot, Cookham, Cox Green, Datchet and Old Windsor libraries
  • Nintendo DS and Wii are at Maidenhead and Windsor

How many things can you borrow?

Borrow up to 24 items - choose from a mix of books, music CD's, CD-ROMs, Playaways, PlayStation 2, Wii, Nintendo, Xbox 360 games and spoken word, DVDs, videos and magazines

Books

All libraries offer:

  • Novels of all kinds including crime, science fiction, romance, thrillers, contemporary fiction, classics and much more.
  • Non-fiction books cover all aspects of knowledge: biographies, travel, science and technology, sport, home interests, art and literature.
  • Large print and spoken word books on cassette or CD.
  • Children's fiction (from picture books to teenage novels and graphic novels) as well as non-fiction for fun, information and help with homework. The collection of children's spoken word on CD can be borrowed for FREE

Magazines

Popular magazines are available at Maidenhead, Windsor, Ascot, Cox Green, Datchet and Sunninghill. You can borrow them for one week as part of your book borrowing entitlement.


Service Charges for borrowing (as from 4th January 2011)

There are no loan charges on Playaways, music CDs, spoken word CDs or spoken word tapes for people with a visual impairment.
