Safety First

Your safety and well being throughout our centres is our priority. Nowhere is this more important than in the pools and for this reason we ask that you abide by the safety rules.

Both centres offer large spacious unisex changing facilities with disabled and family changing, hair dyers, baby changing facilities and lockers to secure your belongings while you enjoy your swim.

Access hoists are available on request allowing easy access to the pools.


Simple points of Safety to aid your enjoyment of the pools

ShowerSafety and Hygiene

Please make yourself aware of the lifeguard locations and follow their instructions at all times.

  • Take a shower before entering the water.
  • No outdoor footwear or glasswear on poolside.
  • Babies under 3 (or others where appropriate) should wear swim nappies (available at reception or in the shop).
  • Please wear suitable swimwear.
  • Do not use the pool if you or your child has suffered from diarrhoea in the last two weeks.
  • For safety reasons one adult must supervise no more than two children under the age of eight .
  • A responsible individual, over the age of 16, is required in the pool to supervise all children under 8 years old. Constant control should be maintained at all times.
  • There is no access to the Bubble tubs for children under 5 years old
  • Children under the age of 4 must be supervised on a one to one basis.

Food and drinkFood & drink consumption

  • Never swim after a heavy meal or after alcohol and do not bring food onto poolside.

Realise the dangers

  • Take care! Swimming pools can be hazardous. Water presents a risk of drowning, and injuries can occur from hitting the hard surrounds, slopes or from misuse of any equipment provided.

DivingWater Depth

  • Make sure you know how deep the water is. Depth signs are located around the pool perimeter.
  • NO diving in water under 1.1 metres.

Supervision of Young People

  • Always swim within your ability. Restrict swimming to safer areas of the pool. Young, weak or non swimmers should wear bouyancy aids and must be supervised at all times when in and Child swimmingaround the pool.

Report medical conditions

  • Be especially careful if you have a medical condition such as epilepsy, asthma or diabetes or heart problems.
  • Report these to a lifeguard before entering the pool. For added safety swim with a companion.

Avoid unruly and antisocial behaviourLifeguard

  • This can be dangerous. For example no running on poolside, no ducking or acrobatics in the water, no screaming or shouting or swearing, which could distract attention from an emergency.

First Aid

  • Report any accidents or injuries to the nearest lifeguard immediately.

Water features (Windsor Leisure Centre only)

  • A sixty second storm warning and flashing red signals the start of the Leisure Pool waves. Listen carefully to the safety advice. The water cannons and fountains follow the waves.

Acting responsibly

  • It is your responsibility to observe the above points, if you do not consider their importance you may be placing yourself or others at risk.

General Information

  • Limit your stay in the Jacuzzis to 15 minutes.
  • Do not use the jacuzzis if you are pregnant or suffering from a heart condition, diabetes, high blood pressure or epilepsy. Special pool events are occasionally held resulting in the pool closing to the public. Check with reception, centre notices or on this website.
  • A special Aquababies session is also available for parents with 2 children under 4. (WLC)
