Garden in Bloom Awards

The Garden in Bloom Award Scheme, run in connection with the national Britain in Bloom competition, was introduced in 1992 to acknowledge the important contribution private front gardens make to the appearance of a town or village. The Britain in Bloom scheme aims to encourage local communities to improve their towns and villages including through the use of colourful floral displays. The Garden in Bloom scheme runs throughout the Royal Borough and the gardens are assessed by Borough councillors, local groups, organisations or Parish Councils.

The criteria for nominations are as follows:

  • Awards are for front gardens ONLY

  • The garden will be judged on impact, overall design including use of space and colour, originality and variety of plants, upkeep and presentation, and any special features including water conservation measures.

Nominations are taken during May and June by filling in an online nomination form - click here for an online nomination form.
