Members of the public, families, youth groups and schools took part planting a new wood for Maidenhead organised by the RBWM Countryside Rangers.Over 1,000 trees were planted in Ockwells Park Local Nature Reserve in Maidenhead during National Tree Week and since November a hedgerow was reinstated along Green Lane in Braywick Park. The woodland at Ockwells was named 7 Oaks Wood with reference to seven very old English Oaks growing adjacent to the planting area and will comprise native tree species such as Oak, Ash, and Field Maple to enhance local biodiversity. It will link existing woodland areas and provide additional habitat for wildlife.
