The public rights of way range from tarmac footpaths in the urban areas, narrow country footpaths and bridleways across fields and through woods, to the wide ancient lanes and tracks and byways. The network is used by a wide range of people for many different purposes. Management and maintenance of these rights of way is carried out by the Council's Public Rights of Way Team.
The end results and benefits of all this work can be seen as you travel along the paths.
