Electoral Registration & Voting: Frequently Asked Questions

You can only vote in elections if your name is on the Register of Electors at your address.  The whole Register is updated once a year during the Autumn but entries can be added/amended throughout the year. If you have moved, your voters' registration can be amended to reflect your new address.  The Register is also used by credit reference agencies as a check as to your current residence when you apply for credit and may be used in assessing your credit worthiness.
