NOTICE OF ELECTION

Election of Members of Parliament

For the under mentioned Constituencies

To be held on

Thursday, 6th May 2010

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT

  1. Elections are to be held for Members of Parliament for the under mentioned Constituencies.
  2. The number of Members of Parliament to be elected is:
    • MAIDENHEAD CONSTITUENCY 1
    • WINDSOR CONSTITUENCY 1
  3. Nomination papers may be obtained, during normal office hours, from the Acting Returning Officer (c/o Electoral Services) at the address shown below.
  4. Completed nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Acting Returning Officer at his office within the offices of The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, at the address shown below, on any day after the date of this notice, during normal office hours but NOT later than 4pm on - Tuesday, 20th April 2010. The papers must not be left with Reception. The Electoral Services Team must be called to collect them before you leave. We are encouraging candidates to make appointments to avoid a possible wait if the Acting Returning Officer has a prior appointment. The deposit of £500 will only be accepted in the format of cash or a bankers draft made payable to The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
  5. If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, 6th May 2010 between the hours of 7am and 10 pm.
  6. Electors not currently listed on the Register of Electors or those that have recently moved can make an application to be included on the register to vote at these elections if their application is received by the Electoral Registration Officer at the Local Authority relevant to their home address on Tuesday, 20 April 2010 at the latest.
  7. Electors should take note that the deadline for new applications to vote by post or to change existing postal or proxy arrangements e.g. cancellation or re-direction etc must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Local Authority relevant to their home address by 5pm on Tuesday, 20 April 2010 at the latest.
  8. New applications to vote by proxy must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer at the Local Authority relevant to their home address by 5pm on Tuesday, 27th April 2010.
  9. The deadline for new applications to vote by proxy on grounds of a medical emergency is not later than 5pm on Thursday, 6th May 2010. These must be sent to the Electoral Registration Officer at the Local Authority relevant to your home address.
