Caravan Sites and Mobile Homes

Caravan Sites

The Council has a duty to issue licences to all caravan sites in the district that have planning permission.
The purpose of the licence is to protect the health, safety and welfare of caravan occupants and to address issues such as fire safety, electrical safety, drainage, adequate amenities and a wholesome water supply.  There is no fee for the licence.

Not all sites require a licence, examples of exemptions include:

  • Sites approved by certain organisations such as the Caravan Club
  • Travelling Showmen Sites
  • Building and Engineering Sites

A copy of the Caravan Site Licence Application and a Schedule of Site Conditions can be downloaded from the bottom of this page.
